If we do not work with passion, our work becomes mediocre. That is so true. But some people get it wrong. They keep waiting for a job or business that fits their passion until they are broke. In real life, no work will fit a person who cannot make a sacrifice to do something he does not like doing. To do something one does not love doing is called discipline. Once discipline is formed, excellent results are produced and passion starts building up. We cannot work and expect excellent results without passion, but lack of passion cannot be an excuse for not working. That is for the lazy.
But there is something better and long lasting than passion. It is called purpose. We are all created by God for a purpose. Jesus said, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26) Birds fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. They don’t worry about food because more important than food is our purpose. God did not bring us to earth just to eat and drink. We are all created for a purpose. Do we see God weaving the tapestry of our life? We may not see the end product now, but if we are committed to fulfill His purpose, He is always there, guiding us. Where purpose is, there is passion.
How often do you read your bible to get to know Him and your purpose?
“We cannot work and expect excellent results without passion, but lack of passion cannot be an excuse for not working. That is for the lazy.”
“ Where purpose is there, there is passion.”
Lord, teach us to live with passion and fulfill your purpose for our life!
